It's a safe neighborhood.
Area is very car dependent, which can be pricey for seniors on fixed income, and public transportation is not great in most areas of town; because of dense population there are a number of community engagement opportunities; West LA College and Santa Monica College are nearby community colleges, though they still require transportation, so difficult to access without car or funds for car service.
It makes it age friendly because no violence happens and kidsxare usually happily playingvand nobody has a problem with eachother.
