I have been here for five weeks and am still finding my way around. So far, I have found the Council on Aging only 2 blocks away and am in the process of volunteering in some capacity with the many activities they are engaged with. I have discovered 'door-to-door' transportation services hot lunch services, exercise classes, yoga and many others. I'm looking forward to staying engaged in this area.

I think Somerville is getting more and more expensive by the minute as new complexes are being built and popping up on what seems like every corner. No young adults will be able to afford to buy houses here:

It has many parks and programs for people of all ages in which to participate. There are community resources that help people in need. We also have Art Beat and many art-inspiring programs that involve the community.

Transportation is really good. We have The Ride which is a transportation service for elderly people to get to doctors appointments and such. Access to the best hospitals in the country is always good. There is Meals on Wheels which is always helpful. All activites like art and music are age friendly. As long as the town continues to be ADA compliant and people in wheelchairs can get around, Somerville is definitely age friendly.
