There are a number of organizations in San Diego that serve the needs of seniors. We have a very strong Meals on Wheels program. A pioneering program dedicated to seniors remaining in their own homes called St. Paul's PACE has been an important part of the community for more than 15-years. The San Diego Police Department is well served by senior volunteers in a program called RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol). They help with things like traffic control and neighborhood crime prevention. There are dozens of community centers throughout San Diego County that provide a whole host of services for seniors. I could go on, but these examples are proof that this community is very age friendly.
