Port Charlotte is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Charlotte County, Florida, United States. The population was 54,392 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Punta Gorda, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Retirement community. Many seniors working in retail.
More transportation choices are needed, more lower income property for the elderly, more options for dayc are for the elderly & definitely more education about advocacy, living wills, trusts etc.
Port Charlotte is considered a tourist and retirement area population is fastly growing .
