The Area Agency on Aging, Region One, offers a large variety of programs and services that enhance the quality of life for residents of Maricopa County, Arizona. We advocate, plan, coordinate, develop and deliver services for adults aged 60+ with disabilities, long-term care needs, and family caregivers. 

Our programs are designed to enhance the quality of life of residents and caregivers. We advocate, plan, coordinate, develop and deliver numerous programs and services.

    - 24 Hour Senior Help Line: A one-stop resource staffed with professionals who can link you to the information, assistance and resources that best meets your needs.

    - Healthy Living Classes: Classes to help you live and be your best you! Classes include workbook and Elder Resource Guide.

Ahwatukee Phoenix is both high quality living with mix of middle to upper middle class homes and wealthy retirement communities. Many are gated communities with homes with security. Golf courses, schools, many restaurants of all types, and transportation all around with good roads. Lots of activities for all age groups

I live in a nice quiet Townhouse. Its a good. Location for me n my 3 children.

There are very few Volunteer Opportunities promoted publicly where Senior experience might be empowering to those who the agencies serve.

The Phoenix area has gotten much more expensive to live over the last several years. Transportation is mainly busses and we have a lightrail system but not enough routes yet. Community colleges and four year institutions are readily available to all.
