Crime is high

Due to the increase in violence over the years I wouldn't recommend this community, but there are certain parts of the city that haven't been impacted by the violence as bad like (Northeast, West Oak Lane, Olney, Logan, etc.)

I said maybe because it's a lot of crime in southwest / west Philly area as anywhere else. But also a lot of opportunities to get involved with the community.

In my neighborhood, specifically on my block, everyone is very welcoming and warm. The children are nice to each other, and the adults make sure that we are all safe. Our block captain holds events for the children during the summer as well as organizes trips for the children to take. There is a sense of community and safety to know that we are all in it together.
