I have lived more than 20 years in LaMesa, Ca. And I find it to be very age friendly and everyone so welcoming.
There are many seniors' centers and 55+ living. There are many pre-schools. There are even refugees living here and have equal opportunity in education and working. Besides Uber there are any disabled (mental) transports working at Kohls there are those that work until pass retirement. There are many festivals and parks to visit here as well. Life here is pretty chill from relaxing to down town full of drinking and live music. There are beach community and mountain ones as well. Kinda have it all.
Rents are going up rapidly. I moved here in 2014 with rent at $1200 prt month. Rent is now at $1600 per month. There are 91 units in my apartment complex. Everytime they raise the rent about 20 people leave the complex. I will see a few ot the on the streets. I have seen several people evicted each year. Pay for non technical jobs are not earning raises.

The residents in my immediate neighborhood are either young families with young children or very elderly residents. My street is made up of mostly elderly people.
