I've moved here in 2012 and I have never had a problem with anything or anyone ..
There are several units that do not have accommodations for those who are disabled or those who are handicapped. I also do not think that community events cater to older adults; several of the activities in my community are for young adults or children.
Indianapolis has a lot of Retirement communities and they keep building a new one every few months. BUT the cost is high! Prices here in Indianapolis have gone up over the past few years. When I moved here it was a lot cheaper than it is now. Food has gone up by at least two dollars more than 3 years ago. Rent is getting close to New York City prices. Downtown Indy has apartments that are priced at $2,000 or more. Buying a house was cheap but again that has gone up. Unfortunately, when you check out things for Seniors on AARP you will find that nothing is really happening here compared to other cities. We do have about two hospitals that are good for seniors but if you want fun, actitives here for a senior outside these retirement homes you won't find it! Again, those Retirement homes and apartments are high priced so you have to dig deep in those pockets and pray that you have enough to cover your golden years!
Community works together to keep area clean, speak to one another on a daily basis and very helpful.
