They have rides for seniors to get them to appointments and shopping
In 2018 The Beverly COA conducted a needs assessment with the help of UMASS of Boston's Center for Social and Demographic reseach on Aging which has helped us to envision an age friendly Beverly. The Senior Center currently provides programs, trips and activities for ages 60 and up, a number of intergenerational opportunties as well as services and referrals to other age-friendly service providers. With the full support of the city, initiatives such as the complete streets program, collaborations with Beverly Main Streets, and other pro-active businesses in Beverly, we are working daily on new ideas and programs. We love to hear from Beverly residents with ideas for making Beverly even more age friendly so give us a call at 978-921-6017 or stop by at 90 Colon Street to discuss.
They have good transportation for seniors
I have just recently moved here. But on my job searches and limited time here, Beverly seems to have many different care positions open. My girlfriend works at Beverly Hospital which seems to provide outstanding care. The community in general is very open and friendly. The down town area is very easily accessible with many parking option to a wide variety of stores and shops.
I put somewhat as my knowledge of this is not 100%, but I do know they have a council on aging ans do see a van regularly at shopping plazas ans in my neighborhood. I also do know of meal delivery in tge area as well specifically for the elderly.
Beverly is an emerging age friendly community. This means it is pursuing an age friendly designation.
