Valley Stream is a village in Nassau County, New York, United States. The population in the Village of Valley Stream was 37,511 at the 2010 census.
The incorporated Village of Valley Stream is inside the southwest part of the town of Hempstead, along the border with Queens. The village is served by the Long Island Rail Road at the Valley Stream station, located at Sunrise Highway and Franklin Avenue. It is also served by the Gibson station at Gibson and Munro Boulevards, but only along the Far Rockaway Branch.
Money Magazine named Valley Stream the best place to live in New York for 2017.

It's quiet and peaceful.
In Valley Stream, there are diverse age groups. I have seen the community pool service all groups, as well as the church outreach, schools, restaurant senior citizen's discounts and facilities for the young children. There many local stores of different varieties that service individual and selected groups which cater to all in the community. There are bus routes that do assist the handicap and access a ride that is available throughout Valley Stream. I personally like my community that is diverse in age, race and different religions. My neighbors have been kind and considerate. We help each other out as needed and do not plan to move any time soon.
Very Low crimes rate/ close family units and love and caring people live in the community

The community has a variety of activities for seniors to do. Great medical doctors and facilities are nearby. Transportation is available, but not always easily accessible for seniors. I see many signs posted for activities at different locations and the Incorporated Village does their best to keep seniors engaged.
