Sunrise is a city in central-western Broward County, Florida, United States, in the Miami metropolitan area. It was incorporated in 1961 by Norman Johnson – a developer whose Upside-Down House attracted buyers to what was then a remote area. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 84,439. It is a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area, which was home to an estimated 6,012,331 people at the 2015 census.

It is a mixed community everyone just mind their own affairs and everyone salute one another politely.
The area is very quite and there's a lot of beautiful place for elderly people to enjoy and keep them active
Many activities for seniors. It is senior friendly
everything is near by and accessible but it can become unfriendly when over crowded, age group may vary based on location within sunrise/plantation, or distance to travel for patient but in most areas the community enhances social engagement, physical and mental activity, civic participation and adds more community supports. That means more older adults can be comfortable
