Worked in the caregiving field for many years. Ready to go back and help again.

Most of the people that live here grew up here
I see people care and help others but I also see younger generation not so friendly
I would not choose Shamokin, PA as a place to grow old. Just the fact that there is no Uber nor Lyft, and the taxi's stop at 5 pm and public transportation is just unsatisfactory. The weather has its seasons of terrible heat and relentless winters so both can be seen to cause health risks. The ability to be able to walk out the door and attend a part time job is very unrealistic because there really isn't too many places to work! The community is great but of course there are a few unsavory people around. I would not recommend my worst enemy to grow old here. There are so many better places and opportunities just a few miles away, in Bloomsburg, Selinsgrove, and towns in between!
