People come for the low property taxes and the mild Winters. There is no other reason to live here. We have very little to offer in the way of culture, entertainment or the arts. The jobs are menial and the pay is low. One place worked me full-time and called me a part-time worker to avoid paying for benefits. Another agreed to let me work 25 hours a week, and I never got over 16 scheduled. Unless you pay the premium dollars to live in a senior community, there is very little 'community' for the solo retiree. I will not be staying.
