Santa Clarita, officially the City of Santa Clarita, is the fourth largest city in Los Angeles County, California, and the 24th largest in the state of California. The city has annexed a number of unincorporated areas, contributing to the large population increase. It is located about 35 miles (56 km) northwest of downtown Los Angeles, and occupies most of the Santa Clarita Valley. It is a notable example of a U.S. edge city or boomburb. Santa Clarita was ranked by Money magazine in 2006 as 18th of the top 100 places to live. Santa Clarita was incorporated in December 1987 as the union of four unincorporated communities, Canyon Country, Newhall, Saugus, and Valencia, most of which are situated on the land of the former Rancho San Francisco. The four communities retain separate identities, and it is common for residents to refer to a specific neighborhood when asked where they are from. Santa Clarita is bounded on the west by the Golden State Freeway (I-5). The Antelope Valley Freeway (SR-14) runs northeast-southwest through an irregular east border, and the Newhall Pass is the city's southernmost point. Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park and Stevenson Ranch are both commonly associated with Santa Clarita, but are located just outside the city limits.

Senior Center offers food delivery, activities, rental locations, information for seniors, transportation, job fairs
Many of my neighbors are in the Senior age group so I feel comfortable living in my area. In using any and all of the local businesses I never feel any discrimination due to my obvious Senior age. I intentionally maintain a sense of humor and gratefulness for their services to be easy to work with. I have attended classes at College of the Canyons and find their non-credit classes to be very accommodating. I have maintained a healthy body and weight, and I am self-sufficient in taking care of my needs.
We're very friendly towards our elderly members mainly because there are so many of them. They came into the area between 1966 to 1980 with their children. Others lived elsewhere moved here because they liked the natural landscape and the amenities we offered. We have colleges, adult school, and senior center and they all have classes and community engagements. Transportation of various kinds is available at discounted cost. There are many kinds of social interactive activities available.
We have mobile home parks for all ages and seniors, condos, apartments and senior apartments, COC has 2 campuses, Cal Arts, senior center, various community clubs and socials, bus & taxi transportation, 3 libraries, and numerous businesses.
I was let go after 9 years at a senior apt. Community. I have been unable to get a comparable job since then. I have knowledge, experience and skill in property mgmt yet I am constantly passed over and I have to assume it's because of my age.
