The community engagement and the way people are brought together through food and music makes a huge difference.
San Antonio promotes inclusion of older persons in all areas of the community.
I moved to San Antonio, TX from CT in 1988 and the city has grown a great deal in the 33 years I've lived here. The Hispanic culture is so vibrant and interesting and the city is very spread out. San Antonio is known for it's Riverwalk, and the downtown area has so much to offer: theater, music venues, clubs, galleries, fun and unique shopping areas, and a huge variety of restaurants. The VIA bus system is extensive; the highways are easy to travel; many excellent colleges and the Alamo Community College District is fabulous. There is always something interesting, educational and fun going on in San Antonio.
People are very supportive and kind..always willing to help when help is needed
Communuty engagement allows San Antonio to be an age friendly city. It allows people to feel as young as they want and invites all ages to participate in fun activities with friends and family.
