I see alot of people helping or delivering meals to elderly people. I personally feed my aunt who lives 3 blocks from me for lunch and dinner.
care and community engagement
in my neighborhood the neighbors have a bbq, and social event to get to know each other.
Makes it age friendly because every morning I take my walk I see the friendly community people caring to greet each other and myself every single morning.
This city is age friendly because it has a very mild climate so it is a great place to live to get away from the brutal cold temperatures and precipitation. This city is home to 4 military bases so many people stay here when they retire from the military. Many of those retirees have started business, work at or manage business here and tend to value the talents senior citizens have to offer. This city is very rich with hospitals including teaching and military hospitals. This state has included some of the age-friendly programs in the medicare plans offered senior citizens. San Antonio offers activities and programs that allow seniors to find suitable safe entertainment and many parks and recreation areas that offer amenities to seniors. Most of the places that one goes to eat, shop or play, seniors can be seen working and/or enjoying themselves. The cost of living is very reasonable in San Antonio which allows senior citizen the ability to live comfortably on a fixed income.
