San Angelo is a city in and the county seat of Tom Green County, Texas, United States. Its location is in the Concho Valley, a region of West Texas between the Permian Basin to the northwest, Chihuahuan Desert to the southwest, Osage Plains to the northeast, and Central Texas to the southeast. According to a 2014 Census estimate, San Angelo has a total population of 100,450. It is the principal city and center of the San Angelo metropolitan area, which has a population of 118,182.
San Angelo is home to Angelo State University, historic Fort Concho, and Goodfellow Air Force Base.
Common nicknames of the city include Angelo, Land of Sand and Jello, the Concho City, the Pearl of the Conchos, and the Oasis of West Texas.

I work for Shannon Medical Center as a patient care tech for the cardo step down unit. I really enjoy my work and have been in health care for approximately 45 years. I live and have family in San Angelo, I have lived here since 1997, orginally from Carlsbad, N.M. I am retired from San Angelo State Supported Living Center.
