General livability is very good given the climate in Northeast FL. Cost of Living is reasonable and Crime is not a factor. This is due to mostly gated developments in this area. Finding work here is not possible/extremely rare. There are a fair number of colleges within a 35 mi radius and a few within 12-14 miles. Coincidentally I was looking into it recently....needs further review regarding classes/0-$$ for seniors. Public transportation is non-existent though I hear there are Uber and Lyft rides. Community engagement is commonly a "packaged deal" within developments. There are in a 7 -14 mi radius Elks Lodges. Italian American Club and many more. Ormond Beach and surrounding areas are largely attracting retirees from all States in US.
