New Bedford is a city in Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 95,072, making it the sixth-largest city in Massachusetts. New Bedford is nicknamed "The Whaling City" because during the 19th century, the city was one of the most important whaling ports in the world, along with Nantucket, Massachusetts and New London, Connecticut The city, along with Fall River and Taunton, make up the three largest cities in the South Coast region of Massachusetts.

Not age frienly at all, NB health center has no parking nearby and if you stop out front to let a wheelchair off you get ticketed. To get the senior tax rebate you must be 70 and jump thru hoops and show all financial records for a year, and if you pass the screening, you get the tax break the following year. Dog license fees not waived for elderly like other local towns. There's more but those will get you started

Livability as far as senior care or care with disabilities is good. There are many homes that specify in treatment. Transportation is good as well, very accessible for people with or without physical disabilities. Community engagement is great, there is always something to do, no matter the age.
