My neighborhood is age friendly because is a excellent save environment. We have very reliable health care. , like hospital, shopping stores, easy and reliable transportations both rail cars- purple line , green, MBTA (bus 59 ) buses.etc...There are hight standard schools- elementary, middle and high schools. We have adult education centers, public library, city hall, we have working class men and women. We have the elderly, retired, young men and young women (teenagers) children, babies , infants. There are a lot of parks, recreation centers, tea shops. Etc. There is no age disparities. Everybody is important and useful in my city. Each person contribute her quota. And everybody in my city are friendly and happy. People in my community looks healthy and are smart. Our high Schools are rated among the best in United States of America 🇺🇸 in general and Massachusetts in particular..
Has become a hospital and service hub over the last few years. Remains navigable and accessible as it has been for many years.
Active Community Center & A Council on Aging
I really can't comment on Needham's age friendliness
Needham Senior Center provides senior newsleters to all residents inviting seniors to a majority of events. Both educational and problem-oriented classes are availiable, some are virtual. The Needham senior center provides meal delivery. With the rising cost of food, this is truely a gift.
In addition, supermarkets in the community have special hours for seniors to shop. Needham has senior housing and transportation services. Also, there is a wonderful, senior volunteer work force and so, a strong senior presence in Needham. I enjoy living and working in Needham and I am sure there are many seniors who would agree.
