Member of the World Health Organization Global Network of Age Friendly Cities and Communities

Houston is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Texas and the fourth-most populous city in the United States.

The Harris County Area Agency on Aging (HCAAA) is part of a nationwide network coordinating supportive services for the elderly as mandated by the Older Americans Act of 1965 and its subsequent amendments.

The HCAAA's programs are tailored to meet the social, nutritional, educational and logistical needs of all Harris County residents age 60 and above.

  1. Nutrition services include the home-delivered meal program for the homebound elderly and the congregate meal program at senior centers throughout Harris County. HCAAA offers in-home services, caregiver training and other supportive services.
  2. Personal Assistance: This service includes assistance with all tasks identified in Homemaker, plus activities related to the client's physical health. Assigned tasks and number of units per week are determined by the program supervisor.

The community has a few parks, fortunately I live right across from a nice park eldest to youngest kids and family friendly. All store types are close and convenient. Security officer patrols the area daily including weekends. This neighborhood could use more street lights for the safety of nightlife activities. Clover Leaf and Channelview area has been my first experience here in Texas. I moved here in May trying to decide if I wanna stay permanently, and with all the best grace I am still here. Thanks for your time and considerations.
