Many seniors have chose to retire here.
The street I live on is all elderly residents. The neighborhood outside our street is very rough. I would consider this neighborhood NOT age friendly as it is dangerous for the elderly population.
Many retirees retire part-time or full time to all parts of Florida. My husband and I are both 67. We love the friendliness of the people. It is easy to meet people as most folks are from someplace else. their"October, we get much more traffic and in January, watch out. However, they treat senior visitors and residents well as we are "their bread and butte." We did find part-time jobs, but not in our fields. Lie any place, you have to look for the jobs and adapt to "lower than your skill" level. We like it here.
This is age friendly. There are numerous amounts of people different aged.
There are all ages in this complex. Everyone gets along and there are wonderful opportunities to fellowship, find churches, and there is even a gym and pool here. I have been here since mid-July and have had the opportunity to meet many new prospective friends. all the ages seem to get along, and the younger generation exists well with the older generations here. There are many close schools, pharmacies, grocery stores and shops and pet vets close by. The people here are very helpful to each other as they are able. I see people taking others to the airport or hospitals or Dr appointments. I see others walking a dog for a person who had a broken arm and things like that.
