We have a nice age mix. I love it!
I feel like Durango, Colorado is an age friendly area because it's a tourist town. You can walk around and just about everyone waves at one another. Everyone smiles it's such a great area for all ages. Coming from Phoenix, Arizona it is a major change.
Small town in SW Colorado. Great Senior Center; good bus lines and senior transportation. Durango is a college town. Senior care is available but many are too pricey for the average senior. It snows a lot here so getting around town can be rather difficult. There are no metropolitan cities within 200 miles.
Very much a younger persons town. Few jobs and most all are parttime and nearly none for seniors. This is very expensive community in which to live. That said, the medical facilities here are excellent; may have something to do with the focus of the community on outdoor activities--primarily hiking, mountain climbing, biking, horseback riding, winter sports and skiing.
I see other seniors in the area
