What They Do:
Assist older adults, adults with disabilities and caregivers by removing social, economic, physical and psychological barriers and creating aging friendly neighborhoods through nutrition, health and wellness and senior independence. Our programs and services include:

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Committee (GRGC) a collaboration of agencies working to support grandparents and kinship caregivers -

People have been living in this community for years possibly even decades. The community is made up of older adults and is welcome to youth and older. There may be a question as to if people's individual homes are tailored to those with a handicap or disability. The neighborhood is located near several and one major bus stops which provide access to Detroit's Department of Transportation buses which cater to those with handicap or disability and to teenagers who may take the bus to school. Younger ages should be accompanied by an adult or mature teenager. This community is supportive of all ages.
My area has a schoolhouse on the corner. Everyone on my block are ranged from new borns, to teens, to adults ages 20-85 years old. Everyone has lived here over 15 years. And, they are kind neighbors even I my neighborhood!!
I want to move closer to the suburban area, in this area there's a lot going on always hearing police. the park is not a safe place to play at, school aren't the best in this area, there's not many community engagements around.
Age friendly- accessible to public transportation, small shopping areas for convenience, area has long term residence

It's age friendly because it has an middle school right up the street and I high school at the other end so it's definitely age friendly .
