i see people of all ages living in my town and especially older people.

Bus System, Senior building with gym and activities next door to public library. Many senior communities with assistant arrangements.

Is a very quiet and very friendly environment

Just a friendly and welcoming environment to all age groups.

I am not retired yet, only 58 so can't speak to age friendly, however, Nottingham estates in Carrollton, TX is an established neighborhood with many older long-term residents. That is home sales are low, I have lived in my current home for the past 20 years. Carrollton has changed from a suburb to an inner suburban city with great connectivity to the rest of the DFW area. It is within walking distance to the Korean Entertainment District of shops and restaurants as well as the Furneaux Creek Blue and Orange Trail system. It short drive or bicycle distance from the DART green line station to downtown Dallas and the DCTA train to Denton. The neighborhood is a short drive to downtown Carrollton (I usually take the backstreets) or via I-35 to beltline. It is easy access to the George Bush tollway, I-35, 121 tollway or the Dallas North Tollway, so many options to commute within the DFW area from here.

The downsides to this easy commute is the traffic, not that you are stuck in it long as you are close to everything, just all that traffic is commuting past you to other points further north, east, west or south. That is a real negative thing if you want someplace slower in the countryside or a lake, this is not it. If you want to be downtown high rise this is not it as well. If you want to have access to both within a short drive this is ideal. If you are Asian, especially Korean this is the ideal neighborhood as you have 2 large Asian shopping centers within walking distance, as well as nearby Indian and Vietnamize grocery stores within a mile or two. For more traditional American shopping Aldi’s and Walmart are also within walking distance if you don’t mind the traffic nor the heat, personally I drive to them. Texas is too hot to walk anywhere during from April thru September.
