Since 2010, Brooklyn has evolved into a thriving hub of entrepreneurship and high technology startup firms, and of postmodern art and design. Brooklyn can be a desirable place for older adults to live for many reasons:

There are at least 3 elderly homes in the area, in addition to a shelter for single men over 62. These homes and shelter provide social services to the elderly, but the community does not have an environment for the elderly. It is newly gentrified and millennial friendly. There are many bars, internet cafes and restaurants that cater more to a non elderly population
Great environment... Friendly neighborhood with great neighbors. Not so much daily traffic
Because there is schools. Church. And stores all around. So it is age friendly.
Somewhat Age friendly because you have private houses very few apartment buildings a hospital a school Transportation 2 blocks away a church 3 blocks away stores 3 blocks away.

The are many seniors of all ethnicities in this area and the neiborhood has all essential services and is very walkable.
