Booneville is the county seat of Prentiss County, Mississippi. Booneville was incorporated in 1861 and named after R.H. Boone, a relative of Daniel Boone. The population was 8,743 at the 2010 census. It is one of 21 certified Mississippi retirement cities.

People of all ages live and work here. We have a Community College as well as several manufacturing facilities.
No one really associate with each other like they used to do there's just so much violence in the streets now it seems like once you reach a certain age no one wants to socialize as much as they did
