Waco ( WAY-koh) is a city which is the county seat of McLennan County, Texas, United States. It is situated along the Brazos River and I-35, halfway between Dallas and Austin. The city had a 2010 population of 124,805, making it the 22nd-most populous city in the state. The US Census 2016 population estimate is 134,432 The Waco Metropolitan Statistical Area consists of McLennan and Falls Counties, which had a 2010 population of 234,906. Falls County was added to the Waco MSA in 2013. The US Census 2016 population estimate for the Waco MSA is 265,207.

Waco has transportation for elders that have priblem with mobility. Also, they have ramps in a lot if the apartments for people that are not able to walk.

Livability, transportation, education, and community engagement.

Waco is a college town and the student here love to engage with our elderly and young people closer to their age. When I worked at the Nursing Homes here we always had the students to come out and mingled and they seem to love it. They came every other week to engage our Seniors.

The community is diligently working all the time to give the elderly a great access points in town.

I feel that we are all equal no matter what age we all need help at some point like for me i have a babysitter for my kids while i work well older people need someone to look out for them in that way sometimes and our communtiy along with others have companys that provide that.

How did Texas earn the grade of B? We examined the state taxes based on how age friendly they are. Texas has a state sales tax of 6.25%. Of particular interest is that Texas does not have taxes on social security. There are no estate taxes. There are no taxes imposed on inheritance. Texas has an effective property tax rate of 1.86%. Weighing these taxes and other taxes most likely to impact the aging population is how Texas earned its state tax grade of B.
