Mission Viejo () is a city in Orange County, California, United States in the Saddleback Valley. Mission Viejo is considered one of the largest master-planned communities ever built under a single project in the United States, and is rivaled only by Highlands Ranch, Colorado, in its size. Its population as of 2014 was estimated at 96,346.
Mission Viejo is suburban in nature and culture. The city is mainly residential, although there are a number of offices and businesses within its city limits. The city is known for its tree-lined neighborhoods, receiving recognition from the National Arbor Day Foundation. The city's name is a reference to Rancho Mission Viejo, a large Spanish land grant from which the community was founded.

Senior community, great amenities, transportation, and healthcare.
Mission Viejo strives to be diverse in it's offerings for all ages. From my perspective as a senior citizen, the city offers many activities including but not limited to centers for development, classes, safety programs, walking trails, libraries and volunteer outreach programs. It is a very safe and thriving community with beautiful gardens, trails and a stable work/life force that keeps the whole community in balance.

Mission Viejo and surrounding towns are very age friendly.My parents have lived i here for over 25 years. I have found that there are many resources that will assist seniors. These do include housiing, means of transportation and activites that are available and readily accesible.

Although Mission Viejo is the best place to raise a family, the older generations will find it fitting as well with the many leisurely activities the city has to do ffer. You have the fine restaurant along the beachfront at Lake Mission Viejo, The Shops At Mission you will find whatever you are looking for, a game a golf can be found at the local Country Club, you may even find a weddening going on. Whatever the case may be, that brings you to Mission Viejo; Just know that this is a WONDERFUL PLACE TO BE ,AND A GREAT PLACE TO CALL HOME, like I did in 1993.I am still here, but that's the Grandma in me!
