I want to clarify something said on this site about Lysite, WY.
I grew up in Lost Cabin, WY, from 1954 to 1969. Lost Cabin is 3 miles from Lysite. The Okie Mansion actually is located in Lost Cabin. The "Doll House" is also located in Lost Cabin, not Lysite. My family resided in the "Doll House" from 1961 or 62 till 1969.
Recently a young woman moved the "Doll House" to her property in Casper and is renovating it. She keeps me up with her progress on the renovations. The "Doll House" was to have been built maybe 1918 or 1920ish.
As to Lysite being of any interest to anyone, I personally would doubt that there is anything of real intetest there, unless someone is into Wyoming history. I hope I am not offending the people from Lysite, which I happen to know a lot of them, growing up in the area and riding the school bus almost 42 miles one way, with ones from Lost Cabin and Lysite.
Lost cabin seems to have more that would interest someone, "The Okie Mansion", which I just read, allows tours. I know the museum in Riverton, Wy, has taken people on tours of the mansion. I myself, living in Lost Cabin for all the years I did, never was inside and that is my biggest regret!! Hope someday I can afford to go back and tour it, and to see the "Doll House" in all its glory, being saved from decay and wrecking ball
