There are numerous 55+ communities in my town and Monmouth County NJ has many programs for active seniors.
Affordable housing for 55 years and older
Senior activities and day trips are available once you can connect with them. It took me awhile to find out that there is a group "Tinton Falls Seniors" since they meet at the municipal center rather then have a center listing. There is also "SCAN" a social community activities network in Monmouth Mall that host interesting events.
I live in a 55 plus building. We have meeting rooms, a full gym, and a visiting nurse who takes blood pressures every month.
Apt. building is wheel-chair accessible, and contains Handicapped units.
