North Adams is a city in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, United States. It is part of the Pittsfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its population was 13,708 as of the 2010 census,. Best known as the home of the largest contemporary art museum in the United States, the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, North Adams has in recent years become a center for tourism, culture and recreation. The Council on Aging works to maintain the age-friendliness of the town by providing programs and services to its elder residents, including:
- Information and Referrals: Elder Services’ Information and Referral Department (I&R) can connect you to many available resources to find help for aging family members or yourself. Call 413-499-0524 and ask for I&R.
- Nutrition: “Meals on Wheels” are designed to provide just the right combination of good nutrition and a friendly visitor for people 60+ who are homebound and may not be able to prepare their own meal, or understand the proper nutritional requirements as they are advancing in age.
- Homecare Services: In-home services including homemaker, personal care, laundry, and adult day health, are determined by an in home eligibility assessment of impairment level and needs.
