A pretty rural community located in Eastern NC. Very few job opportunities if you are not affiliated with the military, particularly with the Marines as there are 2 bases within the area. Medical care is mediocre, jobs are basically low paying food service, retail or service positions. The positives are living close to the beautiful beaches of the Crystal Coast, the warm climate and low property taxes. If you have a good financial cushion and are able to drive everywhere, then this is a good place to retire if you can purchase a home or condo as there are few rentals and retirement communities are nonexistent.
