Small town with small town ways. People are friendly, there is a good variety of shops, restaurants, churches, etc. A few too many bars for my taste, but the locals are not often obnoxious. The county hospital is right up the hill from town, there's a nice retirement community on the outskirts, and a Walmart, and several gas stations/convenience stores in town. State Rte 12 runs through it but we are surrounded by farm land. The air is clean, and local produce is abundant. Social Services, Office For The Aging and Police are up the hill near town. There is a small bus system but no local taxi or Uber. Most get around on foot or personal car.
