La Marque ( lə MARK) is a city south of Houston, Texas. The city population in 2010 was 14,509. La Marque experienced considerable growth in the 1950s. During this period of growth, La Marque provided a general administrative, trades and crafts workforce helping to support the petrochemical complex in adjoining Texas City. It is the hometown of U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and Norman Bulaich.

Close enough to Houston or Galveston for tourism but not right in the middle of congestion. Laid back community. Ease of getting to medical facilities. Lots to do if wanted.
It has senior living properties and easy access to different places.
Some neighborhoods are good in this area. There has been some crime which may hinder older people from moving into the area.
