The Town of Huntington is one of ten towns in Suffolk County, New York, United States. Founded in 1653, it is located on the north shore of Long Island in northwestern Suffolk County, with Long Island Sound to its north and Nassau County adjacent to the west. Huntington is part of the New York metropolitan area. As of the United States 2010 Census, the town population was 203,264.

Centerport is a very age friendly community. A lot of people have lived their entire lives in this community and their children follow. There are many generations that live in this community.
What makes this community age friendly is that, people are very respectful to older people and have some volunteers to help those in need.

Huntington township, and specifically hamlet of East Northport,is a lovely suburban region, containing multiple venues for elderly individuals to meet, exercise and be entertained in multiple ways. People are extremely friendly and helpful.
