Dartmouth is a coastal town in Bristol County, Massachusetts, and was the first area of Southeastern Massachusetts settled. Dartmouth itself is part of the Farm Coast New England comprising a chain of historic coastal villages, vineyards and farms.

The Council on Aging designs, promotes and implements services for Dartmouth's elderly, persons sixty years and older. The nine Council members are appointed for three year overlapping terms by the Selectmen.

The Center is multi-purpose. The Regional Elderly Nutrition Program provides meals each week day at the center. Ongoing services and programs are many and varied: direct Case Management, Transportation, Health Clinics, Food and other Shopping Trips, Senior Citizens Clubs and Tax Assistance to name a few.

The Council continues to serve the community-at-large with the following: Clinics, Computer Classes, Town Resident Photo Senior Identification Cards, Food Bank, Blood Bank Coordination and in many other ways of public service.
