Bald Knob is a small town, centered around the school system. In the past it was welcoming to volunteer grandparents, more experienced mature teachers, even older cooks that came with grandma's recipes. In more recent years, younger, less experienced, less costly, teachers, cooks, maintenances workers, have been the preference. Older employees were offered buy out packages to take early retirements.
The town owns lots of vacant property. Some of the property has been donated for school needs. There are several places that would be excellent for a senior center. The town just doesn't seem to want to attract seniors, or invest in it's senior citizens.
