Southampton, officially the Town of Southampton, is a town located in southeastern Suffolk County, New York, partly on the South Fork of Long Island. As of the 2010 United States Census, the town had a total population of 56,790. Southampton is included in the stretch of shoreline prominently known as The Hamptons.

The taxes are low, which is good. But in general, I don't think the Hamptons are an age friendly place to live. Things are too spread out... you have to drive too far to everything.
In Hampton Bays, there is a beautiful Senior Center with lots of activities. They have shuttle services available for seniors. They also have a meals on wheels program, which is easy to qualify for (it's only $3 per meal!).
