Rockport is a town in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 6,952 at the 2010 census. Rockport is located approximately 40 miles (64 km) northeast of Boston at the tip of the Cape Ann peninsula. It is directly east of Gloucester and is surrounded on three sides by the Atlantic Ocean. Part of the town comprises the census-designated place of Rockport. The Council on Aging works to design, promote, and implement services and programs that directly benefit our senior community. The COA serves as the focal point for Rockport seniors and their families in a safe and friendly environment.
- Health and Wellness: Health and Wellness is key to a healthy lifestyle. The VNA of the North Shore currently offers a blood pressure clinic at the Rockport Senior Center on the second Thursday of each month from 9:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m.
- Social Services: The Council on Aging provides information and referrals, client support, housing assistance, senior advocate assistance, and benefits counseling. SHINE Services counselor available Friday mornings. Call Senior Center for information and appointments.
- Transportation: Transportation is provided by Cape Ann Transportation Authority, (CATA), Dial-a-Ride program. CATA provides transportation for medical appointments, local shopping, and mall shopping.

Rockport as a whole is definitely catered towards older individuals as well as young children. All of the restaurants close down early, everywhere is ver walkable and beautiful and the education system is fantastic.
Essex is an emerging age friendly community. This means it is pursuing an age friendly designation.
