i think hamburg is very age friendly.... its a great place for families and people of all ages. there are quite a few group homes, lots of available shopping and great community engagement.
My immediate reaction to the "age-friendliness" of this community AND the towns around it, are the people within it. The people are of all different backgrounds, ages, ethnicity, families or not, children young and old etc. the important part is that they live one day at a time and do the best they can. With friends, family, neighbors or coworkers around us . We have a village as well as a busy area, with as many older people as young families. If you qualify and choose to work, age doesn't matter. Most of those working and living in Hamburg / surrounding areas are middle class and work a variety of jobs, depending on their needs and interests. You will see people helping one another in many ways AND enjoying as a community , their favorite local sports teams too ! Hamburg offers senior centers, living facilities of all types, caretakers/caregiving and even special discount days ! It is a very age-friendly town !
