Belmont has a handful of small squares with stores and restaurants. It offer easy public bus, train and T service to Boston. It is also very safe, with quick response to 911 calls. Lastly, Belmont has a very active senior center, that offers meals on wheels. Great town!
Work. Education is top notch, transportation available
Belmont is a small town. It is famous for its schools. Families with school-age children are moving in. Rents and home prices are getting out of hands. Taxes are rising too. It pushes elderly people ( many of them living in this town for their entire lives) to sell their houses and move to less expensive towns.
It is age friendly because the a city pays attention to healthy activities for young and old. There are ptograns to learn new things. And to play games.
Belmont is an emerging age friendly community. This means it is pursuing an age friendly designation.
