Throughout my life living in the neighborhood of Ulu Wehi located in Waianae, I would say it is somewhat age unfriendly. Besides the observation that many of the tenants are of the elderly, the location itself is what I think makes it unfriendly, especially to those not from the area. Waianae is typically stereotyped in a negative connotation so that in itself already marks the area as an unfriendly neighborhood. Being that the neighborhood has no curfew or time restrictions as to when people should turn down and dismiss parties the ongoing commotions could be disturbing to some. The location is in the heart of three existing schools so that is also something to keep in mind of.
A lot of people treat you like family even though you are a stranger. We take care of each other.
