At least half of the residents are retirees, probably more. There are programs for the older population including politics, adult learning. entertainment. Economically, the town is wise to be responsive to the needs of their older population. Retirees are involved in every aspect of the community in Venice, FL.
Being located in Florida where many retirees live, Venice has long been friendly to age-related issues. One can see seniors in the work force, in the town government, and in the many volunteer opportunities available and encouraged.
