Age friendly
Affordable living comfortably
I have just relocated from Ontario, Canada, and have been here approx. 8 weeks.
In that period of time, I've had my hands full finding and moving into an apartment, and becoming familiar with the immediately local area with respect to groceries and other retail establishments, essential services/locations, and some recreation locations.
Having prior lived in Phoenix, AZ from approx. 1996 through 2013, I can say that in my brief experience here, Tucson has proven quite "livable" and easygoing. I have heard that Phoenix has much changed in nature from when I lived there, and has become quite akin to "New York in the Desert" with the attendant rush-rush energy and other complications of a large (albeit spread-out) metropolitan area. By comparison, I'm pleased to be in Tucson instead.
