Sherman Oaks is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California, founded in 1927 with boundary changes afterward. The neighborhood includes a portion of the Santa Monica Mountains, which gives Sherman Oaks a lower population density than some other areas in Los Angeles.

For me, it depends on the location in this area. Not all parts of this area would be OK for seniors the valley is a very busy place.
Calabasas and Westlake' is a great place for the aging community.
my community is very diverse with working people the streets are clean and there is lots of local transportation
It's neither unfriendly nor friendly. There is a large mixed age range in the area I live in. It's beautiful, and easily inhabited. With lavish neighborhoods, I don't see a problem.
It's centrally located the people are nice and you have everything here that you need plus access to all freeway entrance
