Henderson made the top 10 of most dangerous cities in America. It has high unemployment, high crime, gangs, and drug problems. Sadly, little is being done to combat the problems. There is much potential here. It has a very rich history. Sadly, it is being allowed to decay. Most people, like me, have moved out of the town into the surrounding areas to get away from the crime.

There are NO jobs in this town for the retired unless you are going to work as a home health aid, changing diapers etc. for people older than you. In this state they practice nepotism of friends, family and know or related to somebody who is somebody. I applied for a position at a bank and was not hired. A week later I went to the same bank drive through where the new girl, hired instead of me told me I had to pay an $8 fee to cash the check there as I didn't have an account there. The check was drawn on that bank from my aunt and uncles account. There is no fee if the writer has an account there. Turns out the new teller is a friend of someone there. I applied for another job about 2 weeks later where a girl was ushered into the interview waiting room and the usheree told the receptionist "this is so and so's niece" a prominent doctor in the area. She was interview next ahead of myself and 2 others and given a start date. None of the rest of us got a job. I later talked to my relatives who told me said girl graduated from high school in the bottom of her class. She only stayed with the job 1 month and quit. Turns out she expected to be promoted immediately as well. These actions are practiced all over the state. Relatives and friends are given contracts for road repairs, remodeling of state offices and buildings, teachers, the medical field and anywhere else they "take care of their own." I am from the Midwest trying to get a job to supplement my income and considered an outsider. Thoroughly disgusted with their practices. I did not know they were this bad before I retired here. I don't know how to answer your questions in item 7. I am indifferent to all of it.
