Colchester is a town in New London County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 16,068 at the 2010 census. In 2010 Colchester became the first town in Connecticut, and the 36th in the country, to be certified with the National Wildlife Federation as a Community Wildlife Habitat.
Colchester is one of the fastest growing towns in Connecticut. The villages of Westchester and North Westchester are located within Colchester. The town center village, which was previously incorporated as a borough, is a census-designated place, with a population of 4,781 at the 2010 census.The Colchester Historical Society operates a local history museum in town.

Colchester has several elderly housing complexes, opportunities for employment, Senior center offers transportation in town and out of town shopping. There are many ways for community engagement through our library, events on the green and in town.
We have all ages living here. Colchester is a very caring community that gives back to the community. I myself am a Lion member and volunteer so as to give back to our community and others.
A cute little country town. I'm new to the area myself and love it so far.
It's more city like and everyone for the most part keeps to themselves except a few friendly souls.
Colchester is age friendly due to having several elderly housing complexes to live In, bus transportation, a senior center for activities, day trips and senior center transportation for shopping errands.
