Chilmark is a town located on Martha's Vineyard in Dukes County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 866 at the 2010 census. The fishing village of Menemsha is located on the western side of the town along its border with the town of Aquinnah. Chilmark had the highest median home sale price of any town or city in Massachusetts in 2013. The Council on Aging identifies the physical and social needs and interests of senior residents in the towns of West Tisbury, Chilmark and Aquinnah. This includes educating the community to these needs and to design, coordinate and implement programs and services for elder persons sixty years or age of older. Services are continually provided to improve the quality of life of elders by assisting them in remaining as physically mobile, mentally alert and socially active as possible. Programs and Services Include:
- Education and Consultations: S.H.I.N.E. Provides elders with free information, counseling and assistance on health insurance and health benefit options.
- Transportation Services: Providing Transportation to on-island locations as well as to Boston.
- Health Maintenence Programs: Blood pressure checks, Hearing services, health talks, medical equipment on loan.
