Bolton is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. Bolton is in eastern Massachusetts, located 25 miles west-northwest of downtown Boston. The population was 4,897 at the 2010 census.

The Council on Aging (COA) is a department of the municipal government established for the purpose of coordinating or carrying out programs that meet the needs of the aging. There are three primary ways in which the council interacts with the public and keeps the town of Bolton age-friendly.

Of particular interest is that Massachusetts does not have taxes on social security. There are estate taxes. There are no taxes imposed on inheritance.
